Volunteer

Some of you may not know this:
The Humane Society of Del Norte is run completely by volunteer staff!

We appreciate our volunteers & we are very lucky to have the help that we need from people who care as much as we do!

We are always in need of volunteers. 

Our Shelter volunteers are responsible for the day to day cleaning, 
feeding, grooming, & socializing of our shelter cats & kittens.
This commitment is usually 1 - 3 hours, 1 day a week.

We also would love to have volunteers that are willing to help us with special events. Our events include Farmer's Market, County Fair, possibly Relay for Life, and other community events.

We are often in need of Foster Families for Dogs & Cats.

Foster Homes are used for temporary placement of dogs that have been diverted from the pound, while we are in search of Forever Homes! Foster Homes are also used for kittens that may need to be hand-fed. If you are interested in becoming a Humane Society Foster, fill out the Foster Application & return it to us. We will contact you if we have a need that is a good match for your home.
